About NUJS

About 15th INVICTA
The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (‘NUJS’), Kolkata, has been successfully organizing the largest sports fest of the law schools, INVICTA, for the past 14 years.
It is all set to host its 15th edition with a dazzling array of outdoor, indoor, and informal events for both men and women at the sprawling Sports Authority of India complex as well as the university premises from the February 16 to 19, 2023.
The University is also elated to announce the 5 th edition of Para-Invicta, a sports festival for people with disabilities aimed at highlighting participation and representation of a community which has been marginalised in the domain of sports. The special annual event is hosted by the Sports Committee and students of NUJS, Kolkata on 19th February 2023 and is held alongside INVICTA.
About 5th PARA-INVICTA
PARAINVICTA is a sports festival specifically for students with disabilities. PARAINVICTA also remains India’s first such University-level Sports Fest for students with disabilities from across the country. The organisers aim to create an inclusive space for participants to enjoy the companionship and joy of sports.
The underlying understanding is that there haven’t been enough accessible environments for people with disabilities in all fields, especially in sports. In India, people with disabilities continue to be underrepresented and marginalised in various domains of sports.
PARAINVICTA, then, is a modest first step in eliminating decades of discrimination and providing an atmosphere of competition, opportunity and celebration to young and determined students with disability to showcase and hone their talents.
With the event, the organisers expect to make progress in reinforcing that students with disabilities are people with goals, aspirations, and desires who can engage in competition and social interaction.
The organisers warmly welcome students to join, participate and attend a festival that celebrates the true spirit of sportsmanship, compassion, camaraderie, competition and social justice on 19th February 2023.
There is no registration fee for participation.
Additionally, breakfast and lunch will be provided on the day of the fest. Outstation teams shall also be
